Quick trip into town to grab a last shot for another project, turned into an extended stay. There was music happening in Lismore!
For the past 2 days the Fast Track music machine has been in town checking out our local singing and dancing talent. Finals were held last night and the girls had a clean sweep, with 12 year old Hannah Parrington taking 1st place and twins Deana & Julia as runner ups.
To celebrate, a mini concert was held at the Lismore Con. Jumping the stage were the Lismore winners, local and most experienced rockers, the Unforgiven and a few winners from all those TV talent shows...names like Krishool, Taylor Henderson, Jai Waetford, Maya Weiss and Vivika......names totally lost on me but the screams from the gathered crowd would indicate they are a big deal!
Maya, Krishool and Vivika judged the awards with the help of our fabulous mayor Jenny Dowell!
Lismore's winner Hannah Parrington, a tiny body with a big voice.
OK...I have to admit a bias and an unashamed soft spot for these two after they serenaded me in the forest for hours during a recent photo shoot!
This is Deanna & Julia.
...and this is their proud mama Lynda and big brother Dave watching on!
Apparently this is how you watch a live show these days!
Screaming ensued when Jai hit the stage.
Horace Bevan of Beasts of Bourbon fame, rocked out with his latest lineup, the Unforgiven. Keep the eyes peeled for their new album due in a fortnight. Recorded in a house with drum kits in kitchens and amps in bathrooms and only one take for each track...that's right kids...no over dubs or out takes!
