photography by NATSKY | FAQ & PRICING

Unposed, candid, natural, inconspicuous, real, relaxed, emotional, honest, unobtrusive...words often used to describe Natsky's approach to photography. Her technique is best labelled as fly-on-the-wall, documentary style storytelling.

While her manner is relaxed and friendly, there is an underlying dedication and professionalism ever present, committed to delivering beautiful images of your amazing day. Near enough is not good enough.

Why would we choose you as our photographer?

If you have come this far, one hopes you are liking my images, which is by far the most important thing. Other things to consider.....I’m passionate, dedicated, relaxed, discreet, friendly, a romantic, adaptable, easy going, experienced, happy and willing to go the extra mile.....and I have insured pro cameras and lenses.....and more importantly know how to use them to get amazing photos. I am a one woman show. It’s me who you will talk to, email, bond with, laugh and cry with. It’s me who takes your photos, edits your photos, deals with the printers on your behalf and designs albums to make you smile. I’m hands on....for you.

How much will our photography cost?

Please don't choose me as your photographer simply because the price is right. You need to love how I tell the story of a day with photos first. I am a documentary style photographer, so virtually no posing involved.

There are NO set packages. I refuse to do the hard sell and load you up with things you don't want or can't afford. It’s your celebration, so you decide how you want to remember your day.

Photography coverage, including a usb/flash drive of edited hi-res images and a private online gallery, starts at $1,495 ranging up to all day coverage at $2,995. Elopements start at $995.

There are many album options starting from $790 and archival quality online prints starting at $4.95.

What does "all day coverage" mean?

This will vary depending on the wedding. Basically I arrive one hour before your ceremony time and start photographing the preparations. I then cover your day until the last major event happens, whether that be your first dance, cake cutting or your bouquet toss. Every couple's day is different so putting a figure on what all day will mean is impossible. My aim is to be there for all the major events from beginning to end and if the timeline goes haywire and you are running an hour behind (and this has happened!) it doesn't matter...I will still be there until the end! Then I go home and collapse!

How many photos on our disk and can we make our own prints?

Every couple receives a USB/Flash Drive with all their pics edited and ready for printing. The number of photos on that USB will depend on the length of time I am attending your day and will also depend on just how much awesome is happening. Most 5 hour celebrations will result in at least 400 photos of fun but the main thing is, you will get all of them. I don't place any limits on the number.

From your USB you can then  print 1 or 1000! It's your day and they are your memories, so go for it. Share with your family and friends. Included on the USB is a folder of selected images, resized smaller and ready for Facebook or any other social media you may use. I do recommend having good quality prints made, as tempting as 10c prints can be.

Why should we get an album from you?

Because so many well intentioned couples never get around to doing it themselves! Life is busy and before you know it you have been married 10 years and you still don't have the album you keep dreaming about or that canvas for the wall. As a professional photographer, I have access to the highest quality albums not available to the public and lots of experience in telling a story with images around your awesome day. So let me create something you will love showing off, that makes you remember and smile every time you open it up!

Are prints and albums available from you down the track?

Most definitely! Some couples will celebrate a first anniversary by purchasing an album. I am happy to organise prints, a canvas or an album for you, no matter what time has passed since the big occasion. Please be mindful that prices may change over time after your big day.

How long do we have to wait for our wedding photos?

Your photos are important to me. You have made a huge effort and spent many hours planning your day and dreaming about all those little details and making it amazing. I respect that and have captured all that amazing on the day in images. Afterwards, I go through each and every photo, one at a time, to make sure each image is the best it can be. I also create black & white images for you. It is an involved process that takes days of undivided attention. Now depending on the time of year, it may be a few weeks for delivery, but I will warn you, if it’s the crazy spring wedding season, it may take up to 2 months. All I ask is for your patience to be able to create beautiful images, which you will then enjoy for years and generations to come.

What kind of gear do you use?

While I think the best camera you can use is the one you have with you, I get asked this question a lot. I refuse to get into the eternal arguments such as Canon vs Nikon, film vs digital, 35mm vs large format etc etc etc. You have a camera (or in my case a few) and you learn what it is capable of, what it's limitations are and then you shoot to those extremes with the experience and knowledge you have. I have seen some extraordinary shots from an iPhone and some rather dismal efforts from a set-up worth thousands...the point being it's not about the gear. The biggest limit to photography is lack of imagination!

Having said that, for those who want to know, my current kit is predominantly Nikon with a smattering of Leica and Zeiss thrown in for good measure.

Most weddings I will arrive "wearing" two Nikon D800 bodies with Nikon lenses  24-70mm f2.8 and 180mm f2.8 attached. I do have a great love for my 85mm f1.4 and my 105mm f2.8 macro and they often make an appearance too, depending on the day and what I am trying to create. It is nice to have a bag of goodies to choose from!

Can you photoshop out my double chin/my crooked nose/a couple of dress sizes/tuckshop arms etc etc etc?

Simple answer is no. Firstly, I don't use photoshop for editing. Secondly, I am creating a record of your day, as it was. If you are a size 16, embrace those curves and love that Boticelli booty. I'm guessing your fiancé does! If you are marrying the one you love, your happiness is gonna make you glow on your day, no matter what your dress size or how crooked your nose may be. I have found over the years that on their day, every woman is beautiful and all men are dapper and I will make the most of camera angles and the day's events to show that in your images. So no photoshopping here, just all a la naturalé.

We’re curious. What next? How does it all work?

Let's meet up.  You can pick my brains for info and ideas, I can show you albums and photos and we can talk about how amazing your day is going to be. I take lots of notes on my "wonder sheet" recording dates, times and exactly what you are wanting for your stores all the wonderful bits so I'm not wondering what's going on!

If you decide you would like to have me as a fly on the wall at your celebration, a non refundable $500 deposit and a signed agreement secures your date. I take no other bookings that day so I can completely concentrate on you. No rushing to my next appointment, no thinking about the next shoot on that day. This also means if you need to adjust times down the track and all of a sudden your morning ceremony is now an afternoon delight, I can be flexible and move with you..I’m all yours!

In the lead up to your day, I am happy to answer as many questions as you ask and help out however I can. If you are planning from outside the area, local knowledge is especially invaluable. Your final payment is due the week before the day and this is also when I will call to make sure everything is still going to plan. Then we have fun on your awesome day!

In the week following, I will post a "First Photos" on the blog. A few pics are also added to Facebook as teasers over the coming weeks while I edit your photos. Depending on the time of year and how busy things are, your finished photos can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. I am a one woman show remember.

Once you have your photos, we can then organise albums, canvas prints, art prints, thank you cards and any number of other things you can dream up. Creating visual reminders of your day is all part of the fun!

Looking forward to hearing from you and creating some magic around your day...
